Communicate for Impact
1:1 communication coaching for ambitious professionals stepping into bigger roles, greater visibility, or heading in a new direction.
You’ve done the work. You know what you can offer.
So why aren’t people listening?

The game has changed
You got here by being brilliant at what you do.
But somewhere along the way, the game changed. And it’s not enough to know your subject inside out.
You need to make your ideas land with the people who have the power to act on them.
And no one showed you how to do that.
You watch other people command a room. That guy with the floppy hair – who frankly knows less than you do – you see him taking people on a journey and you think: how’s he doing that?
But you don’t want to become a slick version of yourself. You want to communicate with the same quality you bring to your work.
You want your communication to match your thinking.
That’s what Communicate for Impact is for.

Who this is for:
- 1
There’s a date in your diary – a presentation, bid, interview, or promotion cycle – you want to be ready for.
- 2
You’re considering a change of direction – and you’re struggling to explain your experience succintly, or to map out where you want to go next.
- 3
You’re stepping into a bigger role and want to be able to set the agenda.
- 4
You’re increasingly expected to influence up — a board, a senior leadership team, a minister, a funding body.

Documentary-maker by trade
Before that, I spent 15 years directing documentaries for BBC, SBS and National Geographic, learning how to distil complex ideas for an audience while retaining what makes them engaging.
Experience directing TV presenters on camera
I directed leading British TV presenters, helping shape content and delivery while keeping their voice intact.
Impactful Communications Coach
I spent two years coaching leaders across Southeast Asia as part of a leadership programme for NGOs. Out of a cohort of 30 participants, 92% rated their 1:1 coaching experience with me excellent or exceeded expectations.
Multi-disciplinary approach
My work draws on strategy, writing, facilitation and coaching, meaning we work on what you’re trying to say and how you communicate it when the pressure is on.

Sara delivered a workshop for our IT senior leaders. It equipped them with practical tools to speak to non-technical audiences. It also gently pushed them out of their comfort zone and got them to view communicating their immense value in a new light.
Louisa Quilter, Learning & Capability Manager, TAC
I've directed, produced, and written for these outlets:

Since 2023, Sara has been the storytelling coach for a leadership program for purposeful leaders in Southeast Asia. Her impact combines deep empathy with a journalist's eye for narrative, helping leaders see themselves differently and lead with greater clarity.
Julia May, Leadership Consultant and Principal, Suncatcher

Sara helped me find clarity and confidence in my story. Her coaching created a safe space for me to express vulnerability and refine my message. Thanks to her guidance, I felt more grounded, courageous, and ready to share my leadership story.

You might be wondering:
One example
The client was a senior manager in an Australian food business, working with an overseas leadership team. She was navigating several challenges:
- Communicating effectively across cultures and time zones, with senior leaders based overseas.
- Building greater trust with the C-suite so they would give her more autonomy and budget to invest in what she believed mattered most in her region.
- Adapting to leadership changes, including learning new leaders’ priorities, expectations and communication preferences.
Through the engagement, she:
→ Changed how she framed her presentations and held senior leaders’ attention for longer.
→ Stopped dreading questions and trusted herself to respond in the moment.
→ Learned to hear feedback without taking it personally.
→ Chose to present on a brand she’d owned for only two weeks because she trusted herself to handle it.
→ Earned trust in her judgement and gained the backing to act.
The goal wasn’t to turn her into a more polished version of somebody else. It was to give her enough clarity in her thinking and her message that she could trust herself to respond to whatever came up in the room.
